Aquatic Physical Therapy
Aquatic therapy is a form of physical therapy performed in a warm therapy pool. Swimming experience is not necessary because the pool is shallow enough to stand.
A therapist will work with you in the pool to supervise every session, and you are in control of all movements based on your personal comfort level. Depending on your diagnosis or areas of chronic pain or tightness, aquatic therapy may be a part of your personal therapy plan at any of our locations.

Mag5PT
In addition to offering physical therapy services, our office also offers certain products that promote recovery and wellness. In particular, Mag5PT, offers a wide variety of benefits that assist in helping patients to recover and regain mobility.
If you are interested in using the product to promote recovery, visit Chesapeake Bay Aquatic & Physical Therapy to purchase it. The following is an overview of the reasons you should consider purchasing this product.
Dry Needling
Unlike other procedures our patients have tried to gain pain relief, dry needling is focused on the source of the pain.
Often utilized for musculoskeletal triggers, this procedure zones in on where the pain is coming from and looking to restore function to these areas that will promote healing and minimize future pain.
Kinesio Taping
Kinesio Taping Provides Substantial Support for Treating Injuries Originally developed in the 1970s, Kinesiology tape was created by a Japanese chiropractor who was seeking to find a way to provide support without limiting movement.
Today, this tape is commonly used by those who participate in sports and are looking for ways to prevent or provide relief from sport-related injuries.
Sports Physical Therapy
For athletes of all ages, sports physical therapy can be an excellent method of recovering from an injury. Depending on the type of injury you have, you will need a different type of treatment.
After assessing the nature of your injury, one of our experts will create a personalized recovery plan to help you regain full mobility to reach your full athletic potential.
Pre-Operative Physical Therapy
If you are preparing for surgery, pre-operative physical therapy is an excellent option.
This allows patients to strengthen certain areas of their body, which will improve the recovery time after surgery.
Post-Operative Physical Therapy
Post-operative physical therapy is one of the most common types of physical therapy. This is because even if a surgery does not directly cause any mobility issues, many people become weaker during their recovery process, as they are often on restriction and prevented from working out and exercising as normal.
Depending on the length of recovery, you may need some physical therapy to help you become strong enough to resume your normal activities.
Blood Flow Restriction Therapy
Blood flow restriction (BFR) rehabilitation is the brief and intermittent occlusion of the blood flow in veins using a tourniquet while exercising. Using this technique you can exercise with significantly lighter weight while still creating a hypertrophy (growth) and strength response. Traditionally to get hypertrophy and a strength response in your muscles you would need to lift a heavy load.
